I have been studying for the Oct. SAT recently, and the Writing section has really frustrated with me. I have been able to improve the rest of my scores into the 770-800 range, but I still frequently miss 4-5 questions on writing. The idiom usage is extremely difficult for me to anticipate, and I have no clue where to study from, since most resources I have referred to don't have any of the idioms I got wrong. Furthermore, I just seem to have huge trouble with the section in general. Does anyone have advice on how to improve?

A lot of idiom errors are fixed by practice. However, if you look around on the web, I’m sure you could find a list of idioms to memorize :)

That’s pretty much how I improved! I used to be god awful at Writing (especially the idioms!) at the beginning of the summer - I used to get 7-13 questions wrong in 35 question section. Now I score 1-3 questions wrong with a 10 essay, makes up for a decent score. I remember I found a site with a huge list of idioms. I tried to memorize them but gave up cause it seemed time consuming.
