Help with Yale major??? - NEED INPUT

I’m deciding what to major in. I want to end up going to medical school to become an MD and then going on to do a residency and get certified OB/GYN. I don’t want to major in biology so I was thinking about satisfying premed requirements and doing the Women’s Gender and Sexiality major with a concentration in women’s health. Is that a good idea?

If you get accepted to Yale and attend, you will have some time to select a major. How can we possibly know if Women’s Gender and … will be a good major for you? Shop. Then shop some more.

Good luck.

Non engineering majors declare their major intention at the end of sophomore year. What you declare as part of your application is only a point of interest to Yale admissions.

Yale doesn’t recruit by “intended major.” All student’s apply to Yale as Liberal Arts Majors and choose a major during their sophomore year. College’s ask about your “intended major” to gauge your interests, but as more than 60% of college students switch majors during their 4 years of college, Admissions cannot use the data for recruitment because it’s an unreliable predictor of a student’s final choice.
