Do I need to call into each college I ranked to let them know I am withdrawing from QB National College Match? The QuestBridge website said notifications are automatically forwarded to the colleges from which we are withdrawing, but I understand that some people who didn't do this in the past years ran into major problems with the college they're applying to.

For example, a CC user's application to MIT was not even considered because when he withdrew from the National College Match, they considered him withdrawn from the Regular Decision process as well:

Hey everyone,

I've run into a major problem with MIT, so I'd appreciate some feedback.

I had initially ranked MIT for the QuestBridge National College Match, but once I realized that I wouldn't be able to take my science SAT subject test in time, I requested that QB drop MIT from my match rankings. However, I was definitely planning on applying through the regular decision process. I took my chemistry SAT subject test, completed an interview, submitted transcripts/recs, and submitted financial documents. In December, I also requested that QB forward my QB app to MIT. As all this was occurring, I consistently checked my MyMIT page to make sure everything was being processed, and as of early last month, all requirements were completed. However, a few days ago, MIT put up their decisions.mit.edu page which allows us to see if we're eligible to receive a decision on 3/14. It said I wasn't. I called MIT yesterday, and they said that my application was never even read because I had withdrawn it during the match process, and that it was too late for them to consider me. They said it was my responsibility to email them earlier and let them know that I wanted to be considered for regular decision. My first thoughts were, how could they not realize that I wanted to be considered if I had completed all the requirements - interview, forwarded QuestBridge app, midyear report, financial aid, etc? I don't think this is really fair to me. Thoughts?

Also, considering the Early Round is over, is it too late to notify the colleges that I have withdrawn from my QuestBridge application and request that they consider me for Regular Decision instead???
