Your class rank is a little low for EA. They recommend you be in the top 2% of the class. There will be a Chat on the ND website this Fall for potential EA applicants where they address these questions. You can access old ones from previous years on the website now.

I'd still apply for EA though. They only reject those applicants who would be rejected in RD, anyway. At worst you might get deferred. My son was accepted EA with a 1480/33 and barely in the top 10% of his class.

since your rank is a little low for Notre Dame, I would HIGHLY suggest that you play up the thing about saving the jobs of 39 teachers. That's very interesting, and def. not a run-of-the-mill kind of thing. It shows that you take real interest in things outside of the classroom, are pro-active and sincere about your poly-sci interest. It will make you stand out in the crowd.

You guys are great!! Thanks so much for the feedback, it's a pleasant surprise seeing as how many threads like mine go unanswered!

The info about chats on the ND website is something I'll search for right now, and the advice about playing up my strenghts is duely noted. Thanks to everyone!!

Go Irish!
