Hello! Recently I've applied to four schools, but there are only two that I'd actually like to attend. One is a reach, and I doubt I'll get in. The other is a match/slight reach, and I'm getting nervous that I won't be accepted there either. I've been looking for other schools to apply to, and would really appreciate it if anybody has any suggestions!

I'm looking for:
-a school with good school spirit
-a school that is well known for having strong academic programs
-particularly strong in science and social sciences

My stats:
GPA: 3.93
SAT: 1790
ACT: 28
Class Rank: 23/513 Top 5%
AP Courses: 7

Schools I've applied to:
-University of Wisconsin-Madison (reach)
-University of Washington (match/reach)
-University of Arizona (safety)
-University of Montana (safety)
Thank you in advance for all of your help!

Well don’t send the SAT. Your ACT is equivalent to a 1920 which is almost 150 points better than your SAT. Is that your weighted or unweighted GPA? What are your ECs?

University of Wisconsin-Madison isn’t that much of a reach, I’d say it’s more of a match.

What is your state of residency? I tend to agree with jasonleb1, even if you are OOS, because of your GPA and rank being really solid. You could say the same thing about UWashington as well, assuming you are also OOS for that school.

My state of residency is Washington, so I’m in state for UW! I got into UW-M, suprisingly, and should hear back from UW any day now! I’m really nervous though, and definitely don’t think I’ll get in. My extra-curriculars include:

-9 years of competitive gymnastics (20 plus hours a week)
-2 years of cheerleading for a world cheerleading team (top 11 in the world at worlds last year)
-work experience (gymnastics coach)
-Jag Crew Leader (three years)
-March Gladness Student Committee (2 years)
-200 hours of community service (approx.)

…definitely lacking in extra-curriculars, but gymnastics took up my nights from 3:30-7:30 every day.
