my d is applying to boarding school for 9th grade

she has a 3.6 GPA and has all A's and B's
she got a 70% on her ssat
96% nationaly

she plays on a hockey team (10 years) (division 1), soccer team (9 years) (division 2), lacrosse:captain (3 years) (modified), tennis:captain (8 years) (modified and club)

Her other EC's include:
Community service- got award for most hours
Plays Saxophone- jazz band, select band, band (6 years)
Plays Trumpet (2 years)
Yearbook: editor-in-chief
Photography: head photographer

what are her chances of getting into taft, choate, kent, and loomis chaffee

I think her chances are good. You don’t need FA do you?

no we will not be needing FA. but her #1 school is loomis chaffee do you think she has a shot at getting in there?

If Loomis is her first choice, let them know that.

You want to make sure though she’d be excited to attend any one of the schools she is applying. And, Loomis is not the most selective among the four, so she should at least have the same chance for Loomis as for the other three.

Chances are favorable. But I’d recommend pulling the SSAT scores up. They’re still on the low side.

It can’t hurt to take the test again. She still has time to prep for the January test. Also, the schools would like to see some balance, so if there’s a section that’s meaningfully below the others then target it!
