How strict are they about following the essay prompt? I chose to write about an intellectual experience, book, class, etc that influenced me, but my parents are really pushing me to use another essay I’m working on about multiple books that, over time, have transformed my way of thinking. I think it is a better quality essay, but I don’t want to look like I don’t follow directions. What do y’all think?!

I’m confused–are you wondering if writing about multiple books, rather than one book, sways too far from the prompt? If so, I think you’re overthinking this. Writing about multiple books sounds fine.
Sorry if I’ve misinterpreted your question.

They aren’t too picky about the actual prompt. I would submit the other one if you think it’s a better essay - just make sure you mention something about an “intellectual experience” in it.

Ok, thanks! Haha. Yeah I do have a problem with over-thinking.
