I have great extra cirriculars including organizing international conferences and founding clubs at school. i also was elected treasureur or the senior class for next year. I am studying in China this summer for school credit (im white but i speak spanish and am entering my 3rd year of chinese).

I am looking at new england state schools like uconn, penn state, etc.

what do you guys think my chances are at these schools? do you have any sudjestions for similar schools? THANKS!!

How much can your family afford to pay? There are lots of schools that would be happy to admit you, but you might not qualify for much aid. Talk with your parents about where the money will come from for your education, and have them spend some time in the Financial Aid forum here so that they can learn about what to expect.

You should talk with your guidance counselor and the teachers at your high school, and find out where students with grades like yours have been admitted in the past few years. They will have good ideas for you.

thanks. my school has notoriously bad counselors which really sucks. I have a fund for college that should cover the majority of costs for out of state tuition for most state schools.

PSU may be tougher as they are very gpa focused. Your SATs are very good for them though. Don’t know on UConn. Not a state school but Syracuse might be worth a look. Best of luck!
