My admissions has been rescinded.
Though most of the time it can be attributed to senioritis mine was not the case.

Throughout my entire education i have never once received a grade below a c. I've taken 13 AP classes in high school, been involved in nhs etc.

However, 2nd semester i ended up with 3 d's.

My grandfather passed away and I battled depression all starting in the month of February, not seeking help until april.

I spoke to the admissions officer and though they were very understanding they informed me that there is no chance of me going there for summer semester (my original intention) they did tell me i have an option of appealing the decision but that very rarely are those cases ever heard.

If I were to take some community college classes during the summer and did exceptionally well in them while also explaining to them the situation do you think that could help my situation?

FSU is my dream school and I'm really upset over this, however i understand it's my fault for not communicating with them sooner.

I’m so sorry. :(

First of all, good for you seeking help for your depression, and hope you’re starting to feel better.
I think your plan of taking cc classes in the summer is a good one. Do your best in them, and also during this time gather together things that will help make your case to appeal. I’d get letters from high school teachers that knew you well and perhaps knew what you were experiencing, guidance counselors, family friends, maybe even medical information (although not sure about that).
You have a valid reason for grades dropping abruptly, and have taken steps to remedy the problem.
If the appeal works, then you’ve gotten some credits under your belt, and for less $$ than they would have cost at FSU. If the appeal doesn’t work, then you have a good start on your college classes, and I’d recommend continuing to apply/appeal at every opportunity.
Good luck!

Admissions will likely explain that your best route to FSU is via community/state college. While I normally would recommend you work towards your AA then transfer, it is possible that after a successful year/30 credits you would be accepted for transfer. To transfer with less than an AA, you would need at least a full year at cc, and once spring grades were in by late April/early May, get the application done as you would have a good chance for fall acceptance.

You can appeal, but move forward with a solid plan to go to cc, work hard, get a stellar GPA then apply to transfer after one full year (fall and spring semesters).

From a summer class standpoint, most summer terms are halfway done. You have missed summer 1/summer A. The most your could reasonable take for a summer 2/summer b would be 6 hours (that is considered full time for a 6 week short semester) and grades would not post until 1-2 weeks before fall term is due to start. it is too late for summer to help you.
