i went to a really competitive high school and didnt try what so ever so now im hearing about what a great time my friends are having at cornell, michigan, miami etc. im going to community college for a year to transfer to a normal school(hopefully).

i want to go to the University of Arizona real bad what are my chances of getting in since i am out of state? here are my CC classes for this upcoming year

Foundations Of Col Reading
Basic Writing 2
Prealgebra
College Success

i know that those are bad but like i said i didnt even attempt high school what so ever. i know that the prealgerbra class doesnt even count the credits since its not a college level course so pretty much im a failure right? can i get a list of schools that could be willing to give me a chance?

I’ll be honest, but those classes sound and look very bad on a transcript. Is your math level really only good enough for prealgebra? Can you handle calculus 1?

To successfully transfer from CC to big state universities you need to show the big state schools that you can do well at their school. So I would suggest taking some more serious courses.

I would drop everything except basic writing 2, and take some real courses in majors your interested in.

EDIT: Don’t take calculus then, but are there courses in journalism or media studies or anything like that?

if those are your courses, you are not going to be ready for a ‘regular school’ in one year. if those really are your courses, you likely don’t have the necessary skills, and won’t for some time, to succeed in a 4 year university
