There are lots of students with perfect grades and near perfect SATs who get rejected from every prestigious college that they apply to.</p>
<p>A safety school for a top graduate from NY might be Binghamton, and not NYU.</p>
<p>A lot of LACs have great economics departments where you will get a lot of individual attention.</p>
<p>Some schools that might be less selective are:
U Maryland College Park (apply for honors college)
Binghamton (highly ranked UG accounting program)</p>
<p>A saftey school might be defined as any school where you are in the top 25% statistically and which accepts 40% or more of applicants. </p>
<p>A safety school is not a school where you are in the top 25% of applicants, and which accepts < 20% of applicants.</p>
