Okay I am a private school student whose had mostly A's & B's her whole life. I have a 3.97 weighted GPA & am applying to private & UC schools. My counselor said my transcripts were sent in the beginning of December, but my colleges are sending me letter & emails saying they never received them. I don't know what to do because I seriously messed up my first semester of senior with getting almost all B's. I think i will get a 3.6 or 3.7 this semester will that severely decrease my overall GPA?

oh & do i need to send first semester grades to private school if my deadlines for the apps were before my semester ended?

What is your question? If you’re not sure why your colleges are sending you emails saying they don’t have your transcripts, then talk to your school counselor. Your counselor may have sent your transcript through Junior year first, and then will send an update once mid-year grades are available. Your colleges may just not have your midyear grades yet.

Getting all B’s is not as good as getting all A’s, but if they coursework is rigorous (AP’s, for example) it may not look as bad as you think. You can calculate your own GPA, but if you have a 3.97 for 6 semesters and then get a 3.6 for one semester, it won’t dramatially affect your GPA.

Each college has their own requirements for when they want to see grades. Do some homework and read the specific college websites to see what they need by when and give this information to your counselor. Most schools do require some type of grades before your 1st semester of senior year ends, but they also want the update semester schools.

You sounds kind of helpless right now, but to get those kinds of grades you shouldn’t be. Take a breath, do some online research, and then make an appointment with your counselor.
