Just wondering about my chances...

hello all,

I go to a small public school on Long Island, that basically doesn't have the best academic reputation. Just wondering if there's any input out there about my chances.

SAT 1 MATH - 730
SAT 1 CR- 670
SAT 1 WRITING - 700
SAT II MATH - 720
SAT II BIO- 640
ACT - 31

Weighted GPA is a 101.3/100
Ranked 8th out of 104, but subject to change.

AP BIO - 4
AP US HIST - 3

COURSE LOAD SENIOR YEAR - AP SPANISH, AP CALC AB? AP ENGLISH LIT/COMP, AP US GOVERNMENT, AND AP PHYSICS

Lots of extracurriculars.

=] Thankssss for the help !!

I'm certainly not well-educated on the matter, but you sound like an excellent candidate. :) Just judging from what I've read about past years, I'd be surprised if you didn't get in. (I'm also applying for Fall '06; good luck to you!)

Well you asked so here's my two cents:

SAT I...doesn't matter what your writing component is because for the next couple of years ND is using the V and W components only in making their decision. You've got a 1400 therefore. Your 31 ACT converts to a 1380 SAT I, so at least your consistent. As to whether these scores meet the average, I don't remember what it was last year, but I speculate you are around the average....

SAT II's...nice but since the school doesn't use them as a basis to give any credit for you as an incoming freshman, they really didn't pay any attention to them when I applied. They might consider them, but they really won't make or break your application...

GPA, rank, class difficulty...around the average student here...

Probably have as good a chance as the rest of the qualified applicants/. So good luck with the application process, hope things work out for you the way you want for them too....
