<p>So I took the SAT without studying, which wasn't the best thing to do. I got a score of 1630
(570/530/530), and I really want to do better. I really want a score of 2000 or more, and I think if I try hard enough I can get there.
The thing is I have no idea how I should study and what to get in order to study. I have the official sat study guide book, but that's all. Please help! :(</p>
<p>heyy sluggish. if you want to study, you just have to take more practice tests. since it is summer, hopefully you have time to study. i used to do one full length practice test every other week and i would go over all of the answer explanation EVEN FOR THOSE THAT I GOT RIGHT. this really helped me figure out why i got some right and why i got some wrong.
also, for the CR sentence completions, Vocab building is key. just get an SAT vocabulary book and set a goal for yourself. like maybe learn 100 new words each week?
for math and writing, make sure you know all of your grammar rules and basic formulas. any sat book will cover the rules that you will need to know. once you’ve learned these, all it takes is practice tests. thats the best way to improve.
also what grade are you in? depending on that, you need to either space out or speed up your study plan.
hope this helps!</p>
<p>Thanks for the answer procrastinator. I was planning on getting a book or set of word cards for the CR, and I guess my SAT book that I have will help me on the math and writing. It comes with 10 practice tests so I’ll do those. I’m going into 12th grade too, and taking the SAT again in October, so I’ll probably have to speed up my study plan. I’m just worried about how i’m going to bump my score nearly 400 points… haha. I hope I can do it.</p>
<p>Don’t sweat it. Math and writing aren’t that hard to raise your score in, especially because the answers are usually easy to follow. I had trouble with reading, and I found that the only way to study for the SAT is to do the SAT. And vocab. Study vocab, too.</p>
