Major
UCI- undeclared
CPP- Finance
SDSU - pre finance

concerns about UCI
-classes will be too difficult
-sooooo many asians
-my sister is going there(good or bad?)

*concerns about of CPP & SDSU
-sdsu is 3 hours from home(I want to be closer)
-cpp is a commuter school
-will I be able to graduate in 4 years? or will getting the classes i want be difficult?
-are there serious students at sdsu? or is it all about the parties?

I'm having the hardest time deciding between these 3 school. UCI is the best school I got into, plus it has the UC brand name. I don't plan on going to graduate school, so would the school i go to really effect my chances of getting a job after college? I visited UCI's campus and it is beautiful and it's only 1.5 hours from home, which is a plus. But the only thing holding me back is the 50% asian population. I'm not racist, but I would feel more comfortable being around people that are similar to me.. I think everyone would. So please leave your input, I really need help

Pucker up kid, life’s a big world so who cares if there are a lot of Asians. I’m Asian my self and I’m pretty comfortable with SDSU which has a large White and Hispanic population and I love it.

Getting classes at either of these schools will be hard because the schools are very impacted. So if you attend orientation early then you’ll get the classes you want on time usually.

I’m not sure about the difficulty of the courses.

In all honesty I would choose Irvine then SDSU and then Poly.

I feel like your only concern with Irvine is their ethnic background, just forget it about, you only have to spend 4 years of your life there. It’s an education not a punishment.

“you only have to spend 4 years of your life there. It’s an education not a punishment.”

@gunner4life These are supposed to be the best and most memorable 4 years of my life, where I make friendships that will last a lifetime. It’s not just “4 years of my life.”

Another question, I was accepted into uci with my alternate major, undeclared, my first major was business admin./finance. Should I do general ed. my first year and then declare a major my second year (maybe business economics) or would i be better off going into a cal state where I can major in finance?

@collegeconfuse

I’m pretty sure any school you pick you will have a great experience overall.

SDSU has a really good business program, so I’d say SDSU if you really want to get involved in your major right away. But if you decide to stay in UCI then I advise you to mix your GE’s with the pre-req classes with your intended major. So when next year comes around and you get into your intended major of finance, you won’t be behind in the pre-reqs.

But if UCI is lucrative to you, then you should go to UCI.
