Help?

Hello.
I am a 9th grader (going into 10th next year) and I'm having some trouble with my schooling. I skipped ahead one year, and have always been a good student. This year we've had a death in the family and it's been really hard on me so I missed a lot of school and haven't gotten the best grades.

I am very disappointed in myself and do not consider my grades to be acceptable. I really want to repeat this year because I know I would do better if I was given a second chance. I asked my parents and they seam okay with it.

Also, I was actually considering going to boarding school next year, but with my current grades (mostly C's) would I still be able to get in? And would repeating the 9th grade be an option if I'm planning on going to boarding school? (I have never gone to a boarding school before, BTW) I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions about my current situation.
Thanks.

The only way of knowing is applying. Boarding schools will look at your overall grades so far, and you have to let them know your current situation causing your grades to fall. In all, affordability will also determine if you can attend the boarding school of your choice. So, if your parents are on-board, then apply to at-least 3 or four and wait for the outcome.
Best of luck to you.

In this situation if your parents are ok with you leaving (given the death) then I would go to boarding school basically to avoid any rumours that would circulate about you retaking grade 9. You can have a fresh start at boarding school and you would enrol in the grade you wanted to be in. Another option is to stay at the same schools and go into grade 10 but redo your grade nine course online this summer and throughout the year.
