Help?

Hi there. This is a bit of a long story but id really appreciate some advice. I obtained an associates degree from a nearby community college. My grades weren't prefect but I did well. Then I went on to a four year school. I spent a ton of time trying to make sure I chose the right school. Once I got there things went to hell in a hand basket if you will excuse my expression. This school had lost all of my paperwork which I spent all semester "re-applying" to be there. But that's not all! This four year had teachers the same age as me on staff, which meant that because I wasn't their friend and didn't hang out with them my grades suffered. There were many things like an opinion essay that I failed because the teacher didn't share my opinion. Finally I realized that somewhere in all of that mess this school had dropped the program I had wanted to go there for. I was in some program that was nowhere near want I actually wanted to do. I ended up bringing all of this to the dean who couldn't do anything to help me. Since he couldn't do anything I left. Now I've paid off my student loans, but I am still penniless and degree-less. This school has ruined my chances. This one semester has dropped my gpa a crazy amount and left a mark on my record that would make other colleges hesitant to take me. I asked the dean of transfers at a nearby university and she thinks I should just start completely over at the associates level. Obviously I'd hate to see all those years of work wasted. Does anyone have any advice for me as to where to go from here?
