anyone know anything about how to apply for oxford and cambridge in UK from america?
i am a california resident, non english speaker, 11th grader
anyone know what i should do and what tests i need to take in order to apply for UK universities?

don't ask here!
go search for their websites and look at their admission requirement pages!
you'll get wayy more accurate information there than here.

I know a little bit about applying to Oxbridge -- I almost applied to Oxford.

First of all, you can only apply to one of them, not both. You will have to go through an application similar to our Common App, which is called UCAS. You may only apply to a maximum of 6 universities, so if you're only applying to Oxbridge, that's one. Otherwise, I'd also consider UCL (University College London), Imperial, Warwick, London School of Economics (if econ is your thing), and Durham.

You will need to fill out a prospectus, which is just an application form with a different name. You can get it from the school website. You will also need to take the SAT, and score a 4 or a 5 on FIVE AP Exams by the time you graduate from high school. Since you're a junior and you may not have completed the five, if you get an offer from Oxbridge (around December to January of your senior year), your final acceptance is DEPENDENT on your getting those five AP scores.

The interview is a HUGE part of admissions. As I recall, Oxford only has two interview sites: Vancouver, Canada, and New York City. You will need to arrange for your own transportation there and back. I was unable to make the trip, so I couldn't apply.

Best of luck!

thanks so much!!

I'm going to take 8 AP test this may. but i'm not a native english speaker, so do i need to take a IELTS?
