What are my chances of getting in with aid?(fall 2007)

it's really impossible to say based on just what you've said. your numbers are good (though i'm not sure they'll be impressed by an 800 in chinese when you live in china), but you'll need more than that to get you in. is there anything that makes you different? how far have you gotten in the ECs you've listed? the college shapes its class to have diverse interests, so you have to show that you are passionate about something. also, you'll have to write a good essay and convey your interest in carleton. in short, you have a shot, but scores alone aren't enough to get you in.
about the aid--that depends entirely on income.

p.s. good luck! i didn't mean to sound discouraging; it's just so hard to get into college these days so there are no guarantees. but you certainly have lots of possibilities with your stats.

If I were you, I would find out if Carleton and any other schools you are applying to are need-blind towards international students, and, if not, if they guarantee to meet 100% of the financial need of international students. For instance, when I visited UChicago (yes, I know, a little off-topic), the admissions guy mentioned several times that they are not need-blind to internationals and cannot meet 100% of financial need for them.

Otherwise, I think you have a good chance. Not to take away anything from Carleton -- I will be attending next year -- but my friend and I had nothing that really stood out on our applications (except maybe me being Cambodian?), little to no leadership in whatever ECs we participated in, and we both got in. Also, although they deny it on their Common Data Set, I think they pay special attention to how interested you are in attending.
