Help!

Is it hard to transfer to UW as an international?

I have a 3.5 gpa, do I stand a chance?

What do they factor in admitting a student?

Do they give out scholarships to internationals?

what are their most popular majors?

what majors are NOT that competitive?

I’m sorry for too many questions…
Thank You for those who will answer!

GPA is low for international transfer, it is very competitive. Look at everything else at the link below. Their website has every single answer to the questions you asked.

As for the majors, this is a website that answers your questions!

Why are there so many competitive major…haha?

what are the easiest/ least populated in those competitive programs? Because I really don’t like the offered majors that are open.

I really wanted to go to this school so badly. I really need some advices…

Thank You very much!

Bumpp…

It’s hard to tell. What associate degree you have now? What course have you taken so far? Not enough information for us to help you

@thaipq
I’m currently a second year student at my college here in my country. I stopped for a while because I wanted to transfer. I currently have a 87/100 average (this is how our grading system works). Many extracurriculars. I studied hospitalty management, but I have decided that this is not the major that interests me. I have taken accounting class, algebra, general psychology, economics, english reading and writing, english communication, biology, political government, history, business administration, computer forgot the others…

I really want to go to UW.

Please tell me which major/s do I stand a chance?

Thank You.

There’s no particular major that’s going to get you in to a specific college. There are majors that are highly competitive at some colleges. If your stats aren’t competitive you probably should avoid applying to those programs. You can find out if UW has any by looking at their website.

Admissions for internationals, in general, is competitive because there are few spots compared to the number of students who want one. It’s more competitive for those who need financial aid. Students who need grants also need better than average stats to be competitive. If your stats are on the low end for this college, it doesn’t matter which major you choose. A noncompetitive major won’t make up for weak stats.

Thank You for replying @austinmshauri

87/100 is not that bad.

I’m not applying for any aids.

So, does that mean that I should stop thinking about uw now? Or is there still a chance?

I’m really worried and discouraged right now.

Your best bet is to talk to the transfer advisors at your current school. They should be able to help you compile a reasonable list.

Nobody on CC can tell you for sure where you may get in. You have to submit your apps and see what happens. My point was simply that aiming for the least competitive major at any college won’t help you get accepted if you’re not competitive for that college. Not applying for financial aid if you truly need it won’t help you either. Your initial post asked about scholarships, but in post 8 you said you’re not applying for any. It won’t do you any good to get accepted if you can’t afford to go.

I can afford to go. I’m just asking that maybe i can get a little scholarship but if not then it’s fine. It doesn’t necessarily mean that i needed it. Of course even though i can afford it, I also wanted to lower the cost. Thank You for your comment though, it was really helpful.:))

Sadly, the UW doesn’t give many scholarships for international students.
