HELP

Hello! Currently, I am a freshman at the University of South Florida, Tampa Campus, and I am looking to transfer out of this school into another out of state for the Fall of 2017. What are my chances of getting into universities like utennessee, uwash, ucla, and ucsb? So far, I have a 3.7 gpa (took dual enrollment classes too) and am majoring in biomedical sciences right now, but I’m changing my major to computer science. Will changing my major affect how many credits will transfer when i do apply? Do I even have a chance on getting into my desired schools? Do schools mainly look @ how many credits I’m taking now or will they also look at the one’s I’m taking next semester? PLEASE HELP

Can you afford out of state tuition if you transfer?

@intparent im going to be taking out student loans and also, my parents would be helping me out too

You can’t borrow $50K a year. You can borrow $6500 as a sophomore, and $7500 each for junior & senior years. Unless your parents can come up with more than $40,000 per year, these schools are unaffordable. Sorry.

@intparent lol money wasn’t even a factor in my questions but thank you. i know a couple people who actually do go to uc schools from my home town so somehow they did it

They used to give some need based aid to out of state students sometimes, but no more. That has stopped. “Lol” isn’t the right answer unless your parents can “help” to the tune of $40K or more per year. Most parents are reluctant if their kid is already at a less expensive in-state school.
