Help

My S is in 8th grade, and he has trouble in CR on the SATs. He just did a practice test, and he got a 520. He really needs some help. Can anyone tell me how to study for the CR section?

Do you think that in time, he could get a perfect score on the CR section?

8th grade? he has three summers to prepare - that's plenty of time (well assuming he's taking it October of junior year, or two summers if he's taking it sophmore)

Why is he taking practice SAT's as an 8th grader? He has 3 1/2 years to worry about that stuff. A 520 is a great score for an 8th grader. I'm sure in time it will grow naturally.

It's because he received a 730 in math and a 690 in writing. I'm sure that in time, he will naturally get better in those areas, but I'm not sure about CR.

CR is fairly easy to improve naturally. Just reading a lot should help his score go up. If he has a 520 as an 8th grader he should be scoring really well in a couple years without much work.

Read, read, and read. That's the best way to improve the CR score. By the time he is a junior he will be fine. Don't worry.

Don't worry if he his only an 8th grader.
