Hi I’m looking at colleges and currently have a 3.8W GPA (my school doesn’t use unweighted) and a 29 on the act. I’m looking at the following schools: U of Minnesota, University of Vermont, Villanova, University of Colorado Boulder and University of Washington. What are my chances at each school and how much financial aid would I receive. My parents are somewhat wealthy and can pay like 25,000 towards college. Additionally I got to top public high school in Minnesota and also play socccer year round. Also feel free to recommend any other schools.
Run net price calculators on the websites of all those schools. UWashington isn’t going to be affordable, likely UC Boulder won’t be either. I’d say you have a good shot at getting into the rest, but money is going to be your issue. $25K doesn’t go far for out of state schools. Many don’t give any need based aid to students from other states. I don’t think Villanova meets need. But run all the calculators.
Can you take the ACT again (with some studying)? You have reciprocity with Wisconsin and would pay in state tuition if you can get in there, but you would need to improve your ACT.
Are you recruitable for soccer? if so, contact the soccer coach now since recruiting season is almost over.
$25,000 won’t work for UWash or CU (they’re 50K and your stats won’t get you any scholarship).
What about UWisconsin since your state has reciprocity?
if you attend a top school in MN, run the NPC on Macalester, St Olaf, Grinnell - see whether the NPC results are within parents’ budget.
