I seem to have a huge problem. I’m taking a non-mandatory attendance class, so naturally I do not go often. Well anywaY, I mixed up the date of an exam for this class with that of another class, and flat out missed the exam entirely. Best part is, the exam was on a Tuesday and I didn’t figure it out until today, saturday. Do any of you have experience with professors that will allow me to make up this exam? Am I completely screwed? What do I do?
Look at your syllabus.
But, yes, you’re very likeky getting a zero in that class. Welcome to college.
My d slept through an exam. Had to drop the course and pick it up the following semester. It was a class co-taught by 2 professors. One was willing to let her take the exam with a 25% penalty but the other didn’t agree. Talk to the professor and see if you have any luck before dropping the class.
Talk with your professor and review your syllabus (how much does the exam count?). You will likely have; to drop the cliass. If so, make sure you do it before the drop deadline.
As a freshman, you have can drop up to two classes (UF doesn’t allow an unlimited number of drops). That means you only have 1 more, before you’re a junior and you get into your major. Once you’re a junior, you get two more drops.
Did you get a resolution OP?
Just wanted to chime in - don’t beat yourself up. It happens. Check with your professor and explain the situation. Depending on what happens you may be looking at a withdrawal. But as gator88 mentioned - you only get so many of these so be aware of that. Find out, too, how that shows up on your transcript (can’t remember how that works). Also, be aware of the deadlines (late W is pretty late in the semester - still something to take note of).
