Help...

Hi, I'm new here
I decided to join this site for help on my college search.

My choices:
UCLA
Rutgers
NC State
UNC
Purdue
U.Mass. Amherst
..and others

I'm a junior. My high school years I have been academically. I'm taking the hardest courses possible in my school and I have a 2.8 un-weighted GPA. I'm also ranked 233/675 in my class.
On my SATs my highest have been 1630.

My ECs
Track and Field - 9,10,11
Indoor Track- 10,11
XC- 10,11
JV on all of them

I know most of my choices are reach schools but I am desperate to finding a "good" school to go to. I want to major in business...partically in International business. My major concern is the cost.
Can someone give me advice on some schools i should apply to? or..whether I have a chance to getting into any of my choices?
thanks

I'm guessing your chances as follows:

UCLA--Big Reach
Rutgers--Slight Reach
NC State-Reach
UNC--Reach to Big Reach
Purdue--Slight Reach
U.Mass. Amherst--Match

Consider some of the following schools:

University of Oregon--Match to Slight Reach (and an excellent International Business program--probably in the top 10 in the country)
University of Arizona--Match and an excellent business school--and fairly reasonably priced
Indiana University Bloomington--Slight Reach--but ranks tied with Cornell for the 10th best business school in the country by US News and World Report (P.S. my son is going to this school)
University of New Orleans--Safe Match to Match
Temple University--Match
Rider University (NJ)--Match
Univ of Wyoming--Match
and lastly, although it's a long shot--
Bentley College--Slight Reach to Reach--but they have the highest-tech (that is, latest technology) Business School in the country and they go a lot by your essay and SATs and a bit less by GPA, meaning you do have a chance here--although it is expensive to attend and they don't offer much in scholarships.

Best of success with your applications.
