Help!

My first semester sophomore year i got two really bad grades in algebra 2 honors and anatomy (im not planning on studing math or science in college) i also had a personal issue that year with my family

after that first semester with the two bad grades i buckled down did much better second semester and had almost all a's junior year

should i write a seperate letter along with my application to the colleges explaining what happend that semester and instead of blaming what happened on the family issue-telling them what i have learned from all of that?
will the colleges like an extra letter? is that ok

thanks so much!

anyone......

It's probably better if you have your guidance counselor explain in his/her letter. I think that's generally how most people do it.

Yup, good suggestion tako.

so writing an extra note would be bad?

Kind of. It makes it look like you're just making excuses (even though technically, you are.)

And if your guidance counselor covers it, why would you even need an extra note?
