I am a high school junior. I have a 4.3 on a 4.0 scale. I have won awards for my academics and a few of my literary works have been selected to appear in my school's literary magazine. I am vice president of our school's Diversity Club, corresponding secretary of History Club, and a member of Art Club (I will join NHS next year also). I participate in artistic roller skating, and practice about three hours everyday; with this I have won seven national and regional metals. For community service, I work as an assistant for my former chemistry teacher Wednesday's after school, I volunteer at the Michigan Humane Society every weekend, I teach a roller skating for beginners class, and when I turn sixteen I will start volunteering and job shadowing at the hospital near my house. Also, this summer I am doing a medical program at Michigan Tech, next summer I will probably do a study abroad or something like that.
I know I will have great recs, and I am taking the ACT for the first time in September.
PLEASE PLEASE chance me

What is your PSAT score? Did you take the PLAN? Your test scores are a big part of the admissions process, so it's hard to chance you without any standardized scores. I assume you are taking honors courses & they are weighted. Are you taking advantage of the most rigorous curriculum available at your school? That's also very important.

My D was accepted at Rhodes. We also live in MI. It's a really good school, and the campus is gorgeous! She received a nice merit scholarship based on grades/scores/activities. She decided to attend another school, but she has only good things to say about Rhodes.

Yes, I took the PLAN and it estimated that I would get 27-30 on the ACT.

I think that should put you in good standing for Rhodes. Of course, the higher the ACT score the better ... get a prep book & do some practice tests. My daughter's PLAN score said her ACT would be 30-33 & she ended up with a 34. She didn't take any classes; she just did some practice problems every so often. As long as your ACT ends up in the mid-upper range for Rhodes, you should be good. Of course, it's never a given for any selective LAC (and Rhodes is a selective school) ... but you seem to have what it takes, as long as the test scores & essays are good.

I am a bit late responding to you but here goes. The other poster is correct but i would add that Rhodes considers class rank and GPA first and foremost. The SAT and ACT scores are obviuosly important but ACT of 28 and higher is solid. Again, the class rank and essay are the thing for Rhodes IMO.

Sorry about the typo ...obviously!
