Help!

i am pretty fluent in spanish but i decided to take spanish as my foreign language requirement anyway(mistake #1). at my school we're only required to take 2 years, so i did (mistake #2).

freshamn year- spanish 1/2
sophomore year- spanish 3 AP

i am now a senior and i've started looking at universities out of state. most of the schools im looking at are privates and a lot of them require 3 years of of a foreign language

should i take spanish 3 ap and take the ap test (i haven't taken it yet(mistake #3))?
or should i take one year of french?

francais is a pretty awesome language, im going to take my fourth year next semester. but then again, i would reccommend you do the same language. idk, its a tough situation, i would personally talk to your counselor or an admissions officer from penn state or UC irvine.

but in the end, dont stress too much, stay positive throughout the admissions process, even though it might be pretty stressful, i can assure you that you have great friends to help you out.

good luck!

In general the 3yr lang requirement is because they want applicants to have at least an intermediate ability in a lang. Since you've attained it in only two years (I'm assuming you aced the classes), you might want to talk to admissions reps at your targeted schools and see if it would be held against you.

Also, I think the 3 yrs of foreign lang req is for a single lang, not 2 of one and one of another. But like I said, ask the colleges individually.

any other opinions?
