Thank you, Lexima. However, because I am a Korean who seeks for financial aid with bad statistics, I don't think that I'll have a chance at this dog-eat-dog competition.
Does anybody else have anything to say to me??
Right now, I need to hear anything I can get.

you have better chances than I do.

we have the same grades, but lets line up everything else:

you have more awards than I can count, the only awards I have ever received were for some french contest and for being the president for a few clubs

you are a bilingual international student.

you are only in 7th grade, this means that you have 1 more year to prepare than everyone else since you have already decided that boarding school is right for you

we're not applying to any of the same schools (I'm tired of single sex)

-the point is that you can cross off my name from the list of your competition. I don't know why you're so stressed. I would never bring myself to be like that, but if anyone needs to get a little more freaked out, it would be me (although I have started doing freerice every night)

LittlePanda, you need to start doing research yourself - find schools were your stats will be OK and that have FA for international students. Develop a short list. Work on your stats, practice testing, etc. You have time to pull this together, but it is really up to you.

Also remember that class standing and the difficulty of your classes is more important than grade point average. In the US, we have gone through a few decades of grade inflation. As are much more common than there were a few decades ago. This might not the case in your country or in your school. Have you also researched scholarship opportunities in Korea for Korean schools or International schools? If your goal is to go to college in the US, an International school might be a good option as well.

I got my scores today.

Korean : 57/60
Morality : 38/40
Social Studies : 90/90 (Yes!!!!)
Math : 79/100 (NOT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!)
Science : 73/80
Home education/technology : 48/60(Terrible.)
P.E. : 30/40 (Need I say more?)
Music : 60/80 (Oh, GOD!!!)
Art : 42/50
English : 76/80
Computer : 42/50
Chinese characters : 92/100

Oh, my.
At least the scores for my school project are much better.

My class standing is terrible, too. About 1/4 of the top-achievers at school (about 360 students, 10 classes) are in my class, so I must be like the seventh at class. The difficulty was okay, except for some.

I have researched for international schools. I have before I had this burning passion for boarding schools. I have researched all the international schools in Korea and found that I qualify for neither of like 6.. They all require their students to have been to the U.S. for more than 5 years or be a citizen or hold passport or have a foreign passport holding parent or citizen parent and all that kind of stuff..

I have researched for international schools outside Korea, such as Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia.. And thought, "No, not really my appetite."

People are saying that I have many awards.. Like what?
I have awards that many people get and that are given at school.
Not to mention that there are only a few drawing ones and no musical or sport ones.

I am doomed for life. How am I supposed to be qualified in an year..?
Actually, less than a year.

And I'm an international Korean student who seeks for FA.

God, help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postscript : I know freerice! it's awesome!!
I am sorry if I seem to be a bit negative.. Actually, a LOT negative..
It's just that I am SO FRUSTRATED WITH MYSELF!!!!!

I talked to my friend yesterday.. SHe took the SSATs recently.. she said that she failed everything.. especially verbal.
And she is better in English than I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, she does go to an international school here in KOrea..
Is SSATs really that hard????

onelittlepanda, do you go to SIS?

No.. I told you, I am not qualified for any of the international schools in Seoul... Or Korea. THis also means that I do not go to SFS, YISS, KIS, and any other international schools in Korea.
(I don't have any friends who attend to SIS either. But SFS, YISS, KIS, yes. I have a few friends.)

WHy, Jonathan1??

ohh hahha sorry. it's just that a lot of SIS kids went to PASS.

Have you considered boarding school in China? My understanding is that there are more and more international schools here that are trying to meet the needs of the Korean market. I don't think any of them offer financial aid but they might be cheaper than the schools in the States. Certainly the travel would be cheaper. My understanding is that some Korean students are even attending international schools here (I'm in China) as day students and living with aiyis.

I am not very interested in chinese schools..
I have researched them before, I have a friend who goes to an international school in China...
But no, I am not very interested. Sorry.
I am not in for any international schools, really.

What's PASS, Johnathan1?

Phillips Academy Summer Session

Oh... Well.

I have received my school scores..
I have gotten the fifth place in class... and 30th place in the whole school..
Out of 360 students, I think.

Okay, can anyone tell me about Miss Hall's School?
Difficult to get into?
Is it quite hard for me to get into the place??

The acceptance rate is 60%.

So it's hard??????

It's a lot easier to get into compared to most schools in TSAO and ISL.

What did you get on the SSAT?

Actually, I did not take the SSAT yet.
:(

Did you register for the January date?

No because I have to prepare for it.

I think I'll register for it in the spring time.
