Help!!!

<p>Oh, so you're applying next year?</p>

<p>yeah. I guess so.</p>

<p>Congratulations on applying to an international school. These schools are pretty tough on admission standards, but based on your EC's and academic achievements, it seems you have a fair chance. I don't know if you've considered sending a personal letter to the dean of admissions about your financial situation, but it may help your financial situation and I'm sure that if they do know that your family is in debt they will put you on top priority for grants if you do get accepted</p>

<p>Thank you, hotchkissjin!
I actually received my grades today.
I have gotten :
(grade range : A, B, C, D, F)</p>

<p>Korean : A
Morality : A
Social Studies : A (best grades in school, baby!)
math : B
Science : A
Technology/Home Education : C
P.E :A
Music : B
Art : B
English : A
Computer : A
Chinese Characters : A</p>

<p>So,, It's mostly As!!!!
And three Bs and a C.
(I am really worried about C)</p>

<p>WEll???</p>

<p>Is Grier school good?????</p>

<p>It has great SAT scores, okay acceptance rate, high percentage of international students, and it does not require SSAT.
I love the school.</p>

<p>SO...?</p>

<p>Grier is actually a great school and although I would be concerned about the C, I would try to look back on past grades and see if you improved in areas at all. Boarding schools try to look for improvement or steadiness in grades. Other than that I think you have a pretty good chance seeing as how you have alot of good EC's and some notable awards. Do you have a hook by any chance?</p>

<p>Er... I don't think so. :(
1. I need FA
2. S. Korean
3. International student
4. not artsy/sporty</p>

<p>Do you see any hook?????</p>

<p>I am so doomed... :(:(:(:(</p>

<p>well you dont' necessarily need a hook, do you play any instruments by any chance? even dabbing helps.</p>

<p>Are you Korean?
Cause if you are, you might be familiar with the instrument called danso, which is really easy to play.. It's like Korean recorder. I play that a LITTLE, VERY LITTLE of piano, VERY LITTLE of cello.
I played piano and cello until second grade and stopped so it is very hard to remember. I still have both the instruments although cello needs a little repairment.
I think that is all.
So you see, I am not artsy or musical or sporty.</p>

<p>Okay.
Here is what I am doing this winter break-
going to Math Hakwon(academy). 4 hours a day, 3 times a week, 4 weeks.
going to English academy. 3 hours a day, 2 times a week.
Korean writing and reading academy. 3 hours a day. once a week.
And I am listening to some internet tutoring kind of thing.</p>

<p>Fun, huh?</p>

<p>Any suggestions on what I should do?
I begged my parents to give me cello lessons but they decided that they were too expensive. I mean, 50 dollars for 1 or 2 hours?
Come on!</p>

<p>And what about Grier school?????</p>

<p>I considered Grier when I was researching schools, it looked nice from the website but I never visited or anything (my parents wanted to me to stay in New England). I ended up at Stoneleigh-Burnham and couldn't be happier, I'll be really sad to leave it come spring.</p>

<p>I see.
Does Stoneleigh-Burnham offer FA to international students?
:)</p>

<p>Hmm I'm not really sure, why don't you shoot admissions an email/give them a call. They're really nice. :) It's a really great school, the close knit community is sooo amazing.</p>
