Help!

It has always been my dream to go to my prom in style and I want to go in a Full Dress uniform problem is I only have $83.00 and I keep getting outbid on Ebay I know the regular price is $1400 for a brand new one; but could anyone lead me in the right direction? I don't care what condition it's in AT ALL!

Not sure I understand this request. Are you saying that you want to attend your High School prom wearing a West Point cadet uniform?

Is that even allowed? You have taken no oath; can you wear the uniform if you have not? Won't that be like impersonating a police officer, sort of?

So an old ratty moth-eaten gravy-stained West Point dress uniform will suit you?

Why not just get a Brigadier General's uniform and wear it instead? Those shiny stars on your shoulder will really make you look cool!

Make sure you take lots of pictures and post them on myspace and facebook, too.

And don't forget to identify yourself as "that kid" at I-day, your upperclass will love to see such a motivated young man join them.

(sarcasm off)

Just get a tuxedo.

"It has always been my dream to go to my prom in style"

Wearing a full dress military uniform you have not earned the right to wear would not be a stylish thing to do.

"Wearing a full dress military uniform you have not earned the right to wear would not be a stylish thing to do."

Nor is it the honorable thing to do.

Get a tuxedo, have a good time at the Prom, and then when you've earned the right to wear the uniform, you'll understand what a really bad idea this is.

sometimes posts like this really make me wonder who is going to serve America in the future.

wow

this is wrong on several fronts. 1. because you've been admitted does not mean you are a member of the Corps, that occurs after A-day, and even then, the wash out rate is high enough that I wouldnt count my chickens before they hatch. 2. you would be the ultimate "that guy" who would never live it down because word would travel around West Point so fast it wouldnt even be funny, and that would be permanent. 3. Full Dress is the most ungodly uncomfortable uniform and should never be worn unless forced to.

as said before, just get a tuxedo, you'll be glad you did in the future, trust me

Unless it's a costume party prom....if that's the case, go to a nice costume shop and rent something pseudo-military.

Say, isn't that what got Prince Harry into so much hot water a couple of years ago?

Yeah, you're right...but that was a WWII era German military uniform!

I was going to call you an idiot but it looks like everyone's already done that.

Don't be that guy.

Ouch. JPUSMA! : You'll be able to wear the uniform and not feel like a hypocrite/poser in a few years. I can see how it would be awesome to wear the uniform, but it'd be a hollow type of admiration. It's kinda like a watch commercial I've seen: "the time it takes to make one, is nothing compared to the time it takes to deserve one."

BTW, I agreed that you'd be the kid who gets smoked for being "that guy" if you did it, and you wouldnt live it down.

it amazes me how retarded people can be. i hope you are one of they lucky few that quit the first day. just as Atop said, it really makes you wonder about the people who are going to lead our military

I'm sure he got the message loud and clear by now.

Yes maam I do
