I just found out that i got into both Upenn and Brown!! but im really really torn between the two i know that they are both great schools....im looking to become an investment banker, which of the two combinations below do you think will be the best preperation for this:

UPenn: Accepted school of engineering...will double major in computer engineering and either economics or finance (can i even do this in Penn?? like can i major in both school of engineering AND wharton??).

Brown: Double major in Finance or Economics and Computer engineering.

Also, which of the two do you think has better career placemnt post-graduation?? does anyone have any statistics on where recent grads go from both schools??

i don't think you can take care of engineering and wharton at the same time even if they don't say you cannot do this by regulations.
but if you can give up engineering and transfer to wharton it would be the best choice of the two.

kal, yes you can get a double degree in computer science and economics (in the College) or finance (in Wharton). It's pretty hard to get into Wharton if you didn't already get in (you need a really high GPA), so do consider that. See this for stats:

You got into an IVY. Don't worry about double majoring. It is useless IMO, especially from an IVY. Very few successful people double majored. I've been poking around at CEO names and presidents of corps. Very rarely do any of them double major.

Engineering is more than enough to get yourself into investment banking and to hit the ground running, especially from UPenn. You don't need to be in Wharton to make some money.

Brown doesn't offer finance. It's offers a very diverse and liberal arts core education. You would most likely do economics, or another social science to get better access to investment banking.

You might want to stop asking what you need to be in order to be successful in investment banking and start asking whether or not your investment banking material.
