Alright, I am having a bit of a crisis- as Berkeley is my top school.

I got a F in a class last term (my semester just ended-4X4 schedule) with 5 other As, and I am freaking out that UCB will rescind my admission.

I got the F because my dad lost his job and I had to start working 35+ hrs. a week to help pay the rent for my house( totally illegal, i know), and when you're juggling that and 6 classes-something has to slip and it slipped hard. He has since gotten a new job, and I'm no longer working and will get an A in the class this term but I am still freaking out.

Anyone know what will happen? Can I explain myself? Ask to be transferred to Spring Admit? HELP!

The best thing to do is to contact the admissions office. I did so today about the possibly of being rescinded, but they said due to my circumstances it was unlikely I would be. They also said that if you're rescinded there is an appeals process just in case. They most definitely will take everything into account, rather than it being a black and white decision of having to maintain a 3.0UW GPA.

Uggh...I'm going to contact them this weekend (grades will be official), as is my counselor so I'm hoping for the best because of my situation and my counselor's relationship with the admissions people there...

I'm maintaining over a 3.0 even with the F, but they say nothing less than a C so....I just want this to be over.
