I don't know whether to to go to USC or to Pomona...I want to know how current students feel going to school with approximately 16,000 other students. Are the class sizes daunting? Do you often feel overwhelmed by the number of students? Are you able to garner one-on-one attention with your professors?

USC's size usually isn't too apparent to me. Class size depends often on the subject- my science classes have always been rather large, but most of my english classes next semester are 15 people. I've never felt particularly intimidated by the size of the classes. If the classes are large, they will generally split them up into discussion sections or labs, which are much smaller groups. I've definitely had plenty of one on one attention from professors- that is mainly a question of your own initiative. All professors have office hours, but you have to make the effort to go to the office hours. When you do, you are certain to get good personal attention.

Can you tell us more about what your major would be or what you're hoping to get out of college? Pomona is definitely a more academically rigorous school and you will never have more than a few dozen people in a class.

However, USC offers a greater variety of classes, student activities and resources. Not to mention it is also much closer to Los Angeles attractions and entertainment.
