I am just now realizing how badly I've screwed up my high school career. I've just started to make a turnaround, but it doesn't matter, because I'm going to be a senior and at the moment I have a 2.5 and a semester of straight A's isn't going to save me.

I take the hardest courses offered, and that's not why my grades are low - they would be anyway. I never did my work, and now that I've started to, it seems like it doesn't matter.

Assuming my grades JUST started to improve a little, and I get good grades senior year, paired with about a 1900 SAT score and the hardest courses offered, AP classes, tooons of extracurriculars w/leadership and lots of hours of community service, am I doomed to my state school? Because that's what it feels like. How far do you think I can get with that GPA? I can only jump so high with it weighing me down like that, even though everything else is pretty dandy. Am I shackled to community colleges, or can I try for some not-so-bad schools?
