Help!

I was admitted into SBU and started reading the student reviews and things posted on this forum and i'm a little nervous. I thought i wanted to go here and I scheduled a visit to see if its that bad. I my self am outgoing, how will I fair? are the weekends and meal plans really as bad as everyone is making it out to be? It's a toss up between SBU and RU New Bruns and i was hoping to go to SBU as I'd like to major in biology...

Is SBU the school for me?

I can't comment on the weekends seeing as how I'm not a student yet, but as for meal plans, I did some research and the same can be said about lots of schools and their prices.

I think it's a no-brainer, especially for Bio. It's a tough program, and a big program, but it's exceptionally rewarding, especially with research opportunities.

As far as the social life goes, you'll never know unless you come check it out. There are plenty of clubs and organizations, and games, and shows, and programs, and trips... there's always something to do. If you're looking for friends and things to do, you'll absolutely find them.

Good luck!

Thanks for the responses! I appreciate it. The thing is I live the next town over from RU so it just seems to me that it is opposite in most respects to what I've read (clubs and weekend wise atleast, meal plan I'm not positive but I think something similar). SBU's bio program is winning me over so I'll most likely be attending in Fall 09 :)

Heck yeah! Get away from home... it's the best four years of your life! Welcome to the Stony Brook family.
