With AP test registration right around the corner, I'm starting to wonder what to sign up for. I've got 5 APs this year: Comp, MicroEcon, Physics B, Psyche, and Stat, and I'm considering which and how many AP tests to take. (I took three last year)

Advice on how many and which ones to take? How many have you taken/plan to take?

I'm pretty confident about 5s on Psyche and Stat, and at least a 4 on Comp and Physics. I'm most on the edge with Econ, since I'm learning it myself and haven't had much time to do much with it.

If you could also help clarify something for me: after some research, it seems the majority of the schools that I applied to only accept scores of 5, and even with that they give little or no credit. One of my universities doesn't even accept any APs, except in certain occasions some languages. (they are all quite competitive places)

So, what I'm wondering is: what the purpose of the AP tests are, other than to prove that I'm smart and that I pay attention, as well as know how to take the AP test. Is there really a point to stress myself out with APs (various things other than APs will make the end of april/beginning of may one of my busiest and demanding times of year) when all a good score will do is prove that I learned?
