A few days ago my dad told me I shouldn't apply to andover because he said it was a reach. He said I'd just be waisting my time applying. Honestly I don't think it is a major reach, I think I'm a perfect match. The only downfall is that I need fa.....but it is a need blind school. Andover is my first choice I fell in love with the school right away.....help!!!

it’s always gonna be a reach. don’t let it stop you. and it’s good experience for college apps.

like muffinqueen said, any school in the tier 1 category will be a reach, but don’t let FA discourage you. I got into exeter on full aid as an 11th grader.

Ok, amazinness!!!, what is the catch? Are you a world class sprinter? a published poet? an heir to the Warren Buffett fortune?

amazinness!!!, correct me if I am wrong. amazinness!!!: indoor champion last year for an even in track, from the state of Texas.

APPLY!!! Andover wil always be a reach, but if you never apply, you’ll always wonder if you could’ve gotten in.

hey latin!
my mom feels the same way, but with every single boarding school. luckily, i still have my dad’s support, so maybe i’ll eventually win her over…

haha, nobody’s a shoo-in for andover. andover’s like… geez, a boarding school equivalent of an ivy. they’re completely unpredictable, so… : )

tell him that it’s not a guarantee but if you get fee waivers for the app and the SSATs, that it can’t hurt and it won’t cost a thing!
good luck! x

Andover is a great school. But, you should also apply to some other schools just in case. You might find out that you like another school better.
