help!

I’ve SIR-ed to Davis, but I’m a bit worried about my grades. I’m taking four APs, one honors, and one regular class.

My overall UC GPA is 3.9-ish. First semester senior year, I managed a 3.4 weighted. I don’t have any D’s or F’s right now and I’m not really in danger of failing (getting a D or an F) in any class. However, I have three C’s and two B’s. Worst case for my semester grades would be three B’s and two C’s and best case is perhaps two A’s and and three B’s (although I doubt this will happen). My weighted GPA, I’m sure, will definitely be above a 3.0 weighted. However, my grades are definitely not as good as they used to be.

In any case, I had health issues both semesters that prevented me from doing my best in school. My problems were two unrelated injuries (severely and possibly permanently damaged muscle tissue that prevented me from walking and caused me to take several days off of school in first semester and a broken metacarpal with a fat cast on my right hand that caused me to fall behind in taking quality notes and doing homework during second semester) that handicapped me for a better part of both semesters. Since the injuries are unrelated and different, I feel like I’m making excuses for the decline in the quality of my studies.

If it comes to me having to explain myself, I can, but will I need to? Is it possible I could be rescinded? I would rather not and I doubt that I’m going to get a D, let alone an F, or let my grades dip below a 3.0W this semester.

If you avoid D’s or F’s, and your GPA is maintained above 3.0, they will not rescind you. But if any of those happen, you probably will. It’s pretty black and white. It sounds to me like you aren’t in danger of any of those things happening, so I wouldn’t worry too much.

If your grades do slip to the point where you could get rescinded, you probably could challenge it due to the physical injury you sustained… you might want to call their office tomorrow to check on that though.
