I did not mean this to specific to the Harvard discussion, but since everyone goes here, I was hoping for some help.
I guess I do not have much ECs. It's not like I have 0, but still.... I am really glum about the whole thing.
So any advice on what to do now?
I am open to anything at this point: helpful comments or even downright but self-propelling criticism.

I think the best advice I could offer to you is to participate in activities that you’re passionate about and genuinely enjoy doing. Does history strike your fancy? Make a documentary. Crazy about politics? Volunteer. Take initiative and carve out your own opportunities. I think that if Harvard is able to align your ECs to your personal passions and interests, your application will be best served. Harvard doesn’t want to see just the usual list of high school leadership roles. They want to see what you do with those activities and how those experiences have shaped you as a human being. Quality, not quantity.

Don’t be glum; take this summer to figure out what excites you and inspires you. Read new books and learn something new every day (I know, it sounds cheesy). Harvard isn’t looking for a reason to reject you; it’s looking for what ideas and experiences you can bring to the table to shape the Harvard community.

OK - So who the heck are you and why should an Adm Rep care to have you attend their school. What do YOU bring to the table??? Thats the only question you need to answer. EC or no EC…

Many top students learn to care about someone other than themselves and it’s never too late to add that EC to a resume…

Hang in

Thanks, the E.Cs that I do have aren’t many but they are things that I truly do care about! Feeling more hopeful, but still realistic.
