Help!!!

Ok, so I just got my ACT scores and I'm very dissapointed.

I got a 30 in Reading.
20 in Science.
26 Math.
23 English.

Composite: 25

I thought I did bad on Science, but not that bad. I got a 5 on my ap bio exam and am taking AP Physics this year. I took physics h and chem h last year, so I have no idea how I did so poorly. I need like a score of 30 for ACT. I did not study prior to this.

How can I get this score in the next month? Is this possible? I need some good pointers. I'm willing to do anything to get the score up. I have time to invest, but anything in specific that I can do to raise my score.

Thing is, you don’t need any background information to ace the Science section. I totally didn’t study at all, and I’m considered a pretty bad test taker- only got a 20 composite. Made a 22 on Science. I think reading the passages are unnecessary, but that may be why I got a low 22 also. Did you read them? I went straight to the questions.

How do you ace the Reading? Any tips? And Math? lol

Haha you saw my scores! I’m not necessarily the best. I honestly expected a 30 on math and like a 22 on Reading. I think the key to reading is timing yourself. The question are not that hard. If you were given 10 extra minutes, you probably would be able to get majority right, the only problem is the time restraint. What I recommend is just doing practice english tests under time constraints that are shorter, so when you have the real thing, you know you can finish on time.

I honestly have no idea for the rest though. I practiced a lot of reading comprehension last year for AP English, so I guess it helped, but honestly I need tips also!!!

Actually, if you look at the questions carefully, you almost never need any science knowledge - just an ability to read the tables/graphs and some common sense. So, don’t waste time reading the background info in the experiment problems, or if you really do not have a clue about what is going on, just quickly skim it. You will have more time to do the problems that way and help boost your score.

(I got a 33 on the science)

Well your scores are a hell lot better than mines… And isn’t the key to the whole test is being able to pace yourself?

I tried taking a practice English on the PR 1296, and got a 20 when I went to the conversion table. I tried the incorrect problems again and got most of them right the second time around…

How does the whole curve thing works?

If you need help on the Science, try going to Youtube and search up “ACT science”, and check out “SuperMagnetMan’s” videos. He goes through a whole science section on a practice test with you. Other than that, I have nothing else to offer, as you see, I’m struggling with the test myself.

Take a look at my last post. I got a 12 point rise in science; granted, it’s not normal and it was somewhat unexpected, but I’m not a super test taker or anything. A lot of studying and a little luck should do the trick. But yeah, take a look at my last post…
