Dang, that sucks so much, especially if you’re borderline…I heard this crap happens often >_<. You should definitely be in-state though. I’d call them ASAP, and tell them. I think you have to send them some proof of residency or something.

In the end you’ll be fine, I just hope this doesn’t affect your admissions decision…

Definitely call in and see what’s up. Hate to say it, but because UMich is a public institution, your odds for admission are gonna drop significantly. They’ve got in-state quotas to fill; it’s no wonder why 70% are in-state, with a mere 30% OoS. Not to mention the cost…

Good luck man, hopefully you get it qualified as in-state!

^ There’s no question that he’s in-state. I just hope they figure it out before they make his decision, because if I remember correctly, he is borderline :(:(

^
Agreed. I really don’t see how they can even draw that conclusion if you’ve lived in and paid taxes here for 6 years, that’s ridiculous.

yesh, its true im at the borderline… i’ll call them first thing tomorrow and let them know

They’ll make you submit a residency application. Unfortunately that process takes like 3 months and your admission fate will be decided before then.
Same thing happen to me two years ago.
