My guidance counselor suggested that I apply EOP to CSU’s and UC’s. I didn’t think I’d qualify because I am not low income, but I am a first generation college student and she told me that the criteria are: low income or first generation or minority. She said it could only help, not hurt, and I might as well try. So I submitted EOP apps to the CSU’s but have not submitted my UC’s yet.

My question is will it hurt my chances of getting accepted to the colleges once they see that my family is not low income. It says on their website that they look at income levels and they have a chart of those levels. (we are about twice the amount of what they show). Will it seem like I am trying to deceive them even though I have submitted truthfully all of the information they requested including copies of tax returns? My counselor has already submitted a letter of recommendation for me too per their request. I’m just confused now. Should I still apply EOP to the UC’s??
