I'm a student at a community college in Ohio and I'm in the process of deciding schools to apply to in the coming months. One of the schools, Miami University, has a Honors Program that I'd really like to be admitted to. The requirement is a 3.5 GPA (I have a 4.0) and fewer than 45 transferable credit hours. The problem is, I was planning on getting my Associate's Degree next summer (in less than a year and a half) because some of other schools I'm interested in recommend or require at least 2 years of transferable course work for community college students, or a degree, which is at least 60 credit hours. The way I figured it, if I do all the requirements at my CC, I'd have 65 credit hours.

So, should I not get my Associate's of Science degree so that I could apply to the Miami University Honors Program (and be eligible to apply for a scholarship free tuition) even if that would prevent me from going to other schools I'm interested in(like, two off the top of my head)?

Money is a big concern for my family and me so that free ride would help so much but it's not a guarantee and not worrying about paying $11,000+ a year for two years would be beyond great. Miami offers other scholarships for transfer students but they're a long ways away from a full ride from my second pick school.

It's not a sure thing, though, even with a good GPA, so I don't really know what I should do.
Advice is much appreciated!
