Please give me advice- i'm really stressed over which school to apply early decision to in Duke. After visiting it this weekend, i know that duke is the school for me. I'm dying to get in and i could honestly go either way in terms of the school of engineering or the college. I'm just wondering where i would theoretically have the better chane- please tell me honestly. I've written out what i consider the reasons for me to choose either school and i would appreciate if you could give your opinion. I've also put the other schools im considering below as well as my resume. Please tell me what kind of a chance i would have at either school, or if i have no chance at all.

Since my AP classes and strengths in school are in the areas of math and science, many people have said I should apply to the engineering school. On standardized tests I've gotten 740 on the math SAT I, 800 on the SATIImath IIC, 710 on the chem SAT II, 750 on the bio SATII, 3 on the chem AP, 5 on the bio AP, and 5 on the stat AP. However, I have heard that the applicants applying to the engineering school often have SATI scores of 800 and almost perfect standardized test scores, and that I would be up against a tougher applicant pool to get into the school. Also, I heard that the Engineering school overenrolled this year, and therefore it will be harder to get into next year. On the other hand, I have also heard that the majority of the engineering students are foreign males, and that I might stand a good chance being a caucasian female, which is the minority in that situation.
On the other hand, I'm assuming that in the College, the other applicants might not have as high scores as the engineering students, and that therefore I might have a better chance at getting in. Also, many students who apply to Duke just based on the "name" and because they want to come to the school to have fun and watch basketball might apply to the college, thinking that it would be easier for them to get in. Therefore, I might have a better chance up against those other students.
I'm writing my essay about doing cancer research at yale studying a rare form of cancer in china, and how that study brought me to china this summer, which was a real educational experience. I was thinking that if i applied to the engineering school, I would say that i wanted to participate in the international honors program, which is a program where you study engineering as well as a foreign language and culture, and economics, political science, public policy, and studying abroad. If I applied to the college, I would say that I wanted to study science and foreign affairs.
