Hello! So my mom isn't letting me apply to many colleges, so I need to really choose which ones I really want to go to. Here are my stats:

Female, White

SATs:
CR: 710 M: 660 W: 730
(didnt take SAT IIs yet, taking them in october)

GPA: 3.93 unweighted, 5.1 weighted (going into senior year)
rank: 8 of 667 going into junior year (not updated for upcoming seniors yet)

All honors and AP classes, varsity runner for 3 seasons, national honors society, spanish honors society, scholar athlete, went to governor's school for engineering and technology, wrote a research paper (unpublished as of now) on firefox extension security, Humanities scholar.

if you guys have any college suggestions, let me know!! if you could tell me my chances of getting into lehigh, bucknell, purdue, rutgers, NJIT, NYU, and carnegie mellon.

thanks everyone!! :D

Shouldn’t your math SATs be higher if you want to be a math major? Maybe I would work on that a little bit as well… I think Lehigh would be a low reach as well as Bucknell. I live near them both so they’re the only two I will comment on.

yeah i know what youre saying about the math section… i dont really test too well, so 660 was actually good for me, but my school scores show that I am a very good math student!

Carnegie Mellon would be a very good higher match for you. You should have a good shot there if you write a solid essay. I would do around 30 percent of you colleges as safeties (state schools work great usually), 50 percent matches, and 20 percent dream schools.
Chance me?

If you are a bad test taker then maybe you should write your essay on how you have had to overcome this fact? Or somehow tie that in? Since you want to major in math, you should take your SAT again and improve your scores. If you still have time, enroll in an SAT prep class and study on your own time as well.

Also, I’m not familiar with any of these colleges, but I agree with Anonymous1993 in that you should apply to some safeties, more matches, and then only a few dreams schools.
