When I signed up for the October SAT, I added Georgetown to schools I wanted my scores sent to, and then I deleted it because I wanted to wait to see what my scores were. I just checked, though, and all my scores were sent! I'm really worried because I took a bunch of subject tests that I didn't do very well on. I called College Board and they said that it's too late to do anything about it now. Do you think I could send an email to admissions explaining what happened and asking them to disregard those scores? Its just subject tests that I'm worried about, not the actual SAT.

If I were an admissions representative, I would not have a positive impression of somebody trying to “unsend” any part of their application. Maybe if you get lucky a student assistant or someone would remove it from your file before any admissions rep sees it, but if I were you, it’s too late now.

After all, you mentioned that you did poorly on multiple subject tests… Are there enough other subject tests to take to satisfactorily fulfill the 3 test requirement?

Georgetown only needs two scores and they will only take the top two.

I got a 720 on US History and 700 on Math level 1- those were my good scores

I got a 610 and 620 in Biology (went down the second time for some reason), 660 in US History the first time, and 650 in Math level II. I know these scores aren’t horrible, but do you think they will hurt me at all? I did really well on the ap tests for bio and us history, and i have really strong sat scores. i also have a 4.0 uw. i really have no idea how much of a factor these tests are. also, do you think they will look at the 3 top scores, or at all of them?

I will refer you to the official admissions website for clarification. Simply click on “Testing Requirements” and be enlightened.

We can never predict exactly what the admissions office will or will not do, but I would suggest either counting on them looking at your top 3 scores, or retaking 1 or 2 tests if you’re applying RD. I do know that they prefer the tests be in relatively separate subjects, i.e. submitting Math I and Math II isn’t nearly as beneficial as submitting, say, Math II and Literature. Based on your scores I would recommend using the US History for sure, and if possible either retaking Math II or adding another test. However, you have taken and retaken many tests and the admissions office may frown upon overzealous testing.

IMO there’s not much that can be done now. Which scores did you want them to disregard?

Pretty much all but the 700s. I guess it’s too late, I’m just really worried now.

You do know that Georgetown requires you to submit each and every score, right?

“Georgetown University does not participate in the Score Choice option available through the College Board or the similar program through Educational Testing Service (ETS). Georgetown requires that you submit scores from all test sittings of the SAT, ACT or SAT Subject Tests. Georgetown evaluates thousands of competitive applicants each year for admission; access to your full testing profile enables the admissions committee to fully and fairly assess your individual strengths in comparison to the entire applicant pool.”
