So, I wish I had found this thread before... I'm a senior and I'm planning on taking sat subject tests on Jan 26 after the regular decision deadline, but I was afraid the colleges I was applying to wouldn't take them, so I emailed Amherst, Dartmouth, Swarthmore, and Williams, who all responded withing a day and these are the responses:

Amherst: "Yes, you may send us your SAT II scores. There is no need to rush them. This is not frowned upon. They will consider the highest scores."

Dartmouth: "Thank you for your message. There is no need to rush January scores. Even though the Regular Decision application deadline is January 1st, Regular Decision applicants can register or and take the January tests. With the electronic process we have established with the testing center, we will have the scores in plenty of time for consideration in the admissions process."

Swarthmore: "We're first of all glad to hear that you've taken your SATIIs and strongly encourage all applicants to have a complete application in by the deadline date of January 2nd. If you wish to sit for the January
26th date, you may do so, but keep in mind that we cannot guarantee consideration of the results and this is even only a possibility for Regular Decision applications. No rush would be necessary in this case, but please make sure to indicate if you will be taking the test on the 26th on your application. We hope this helps!" <Their response is semi-ambiguous and confusing...like the line: "this is even only a possibility for Regular Decision applications." I have no idea what that means, but okay

Williams: "Thank you for your e-mail. You can indeed take the test in January and still have the scores reviewed with your Regular Decision application. We highly suggest that you do rush the scores to us however so they will arrive in time."
