Helpful Suggestions Needed Please

I am currently a junior who's ready to apply to a few Ivy Leagues. Knowing that Harvard requires three SAT II's, I originally signed up to take Chemistry, Math IIC, and World History on June 4th (not far away!). I am now taking A.P. Chemistry. As for Math IIC, I don't think I'm ready for that level yet, so I am going to change it to Math IC for now. Unfortunately, I am going to drop World History due to the fact that my Freshmen Global Studies course did not cover enough on world history. So right now, I have only Chemistry and Math IC on my list. And then, I am planning to take two more SAT II's in November (Math IIC and something else undecided).

What do you think of my situation? Do you think I should take something like Literature (which I heard is a little challenging) in place of World History? Or do you think I should drop the World History and take a couple more SAT II's in the fall? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I took U.S. History during Sophomore year

I am taking A.P. Modern Europe this year

Bump........

Unless you think you can "ace" the Lit test without preparation, just take math and chem now and wait until the fall, when you will have had more time to prepare, to take anything else.

How are you in US History? A lot of people think US History is one of the tougher SATs because it covers so much stuff but it is also one of the most "studiable" --i.e. you should see a marked improvement in your practice test scores after a few days of reading and review, unlike other subjects (read: literature, languages, etc) that only tend to improve a lot over the long term. I personally spent two days reading the REA guide for AP US Hist and made a 790. So it's doable.

Also, what math are you in? If you've had precalc, I'd really urge you to go ahead and try for the IIC because the curve is so much nicer. There are plenty of people on CC who scored LOWER on the IC than IIC because a few stupid mistakes can really hurt your score on it.

I took U.S. History during my Sophomore year, and I had an average of 98.3 in the class. I'm still trying to decide if I should prepare myself for a U.S. History or a World History test in the fall. Either way, I'm trying to look for an appropriate prep. book. (What's the full name of the book that you mentioned? It must be a good prep. book if you scored a 790 by just reading it over a few days!)

I actually skipped precalculus last summer. This year, I am taking Intermediate Calculus. I'm not sure if I still remember all the terms and content from Pre-calculus, so that's why I thought it'd be safer to take the Math IC first and then prepare myself for the Math IIC over the summer vacation.

So right now, my schedule goes like this:

June 4th - Math IC and Chemistry
October - SAT I
November - SAT II - Math IIC and U.S. History?
December - Sat I again if needed (hopefully I could squeeze the scores in on time!)

Any suggestions? Thanks!
