Helpful Transfer Resources Compilation

Hey Everyone,

I'm working on a project that aims to compile all the most relevant and helpful resources for students looking to transfer from a CCC to a US (website links, data, financial aid info, links to TAGs, important info about TAGs and these type of contracts, ASSIST info, etc etc).

It's been a couple years since I graduated so I'm a little out of touch.

This site was a great resource for me when I was looking to transfer so I thought I'd reach out to you all.

I was wondering if you could post your thoughts on what resources you think would be helpful to consult for new CCC students looking to transfer to a UC?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ms. Sun’s blog and website is pretty helpful (She also responds to your email, which is pretty cool)

I second Ms. Sun. She also has her own list of resources for students ([■■■■■■■■■■■■ - Community College Students: Resources](http://■■■■■■■■■■■■/cc-resource.htm)).

I also found [University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/) very helpful for understanding how numbers work in the admissions game. The site isn’t updated frequently, but it is a great database for information about the applicant pool. I even used the site for a statistics project.

This is the systemwide UC site: [University of California - Transfer](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/index.html)
I would invite students to peruse the official websites for each UC campus, which you can find on Google, for transfer and financial aid information. I highly advise new students to visit the department websites for their major to get a sense of what life is like after transfer.

For UCLA, here are additional admissions statistics: [Statistics - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/stat.htm)
And their TAP site: [UCLA - Transfer Alliance Program](http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/tap/)

This is the new TAG application website: https://uctag.universityofcalifornia.edu/index.cfm</a>
Students should visit each campus’s website to MAKE SURE they’re eligible.

Lastly, lurking on College Confidential does wonders to inform transfer hopefuls. ;)

I hope this helps your project.

Edit: This Q&A doc has transfer answers from all of the undergraduate campuses. I can’t copy/paste the link, but you can get it from Ms. Sun’s post.

Edit2:

More info about UCLA’s TAP: http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/tap/pp_ug_admissions.pdf</a></p>

UC Berkeley information sheet with admission statistics:

<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST; should be the first step, of course.

All links that I wish I had found sooner.

I commend your valiant effort, but knowing how CC works this thread will ultimately fall off the first page and be lost. A few weeks ago I saw a thread asking what was IGETC. All they had to do was click the UC Transfer FAQ thread to see the answer.

Another case I saw applicants attempting to determine how many applications a school received for the past year. Then someone posted a direct link to the official school website displaying the number and yet people still speculated.

Yes, perhaps we should add [Let me google that for you](http://lmgtfy.com/) to the list.

I think that just might become my standard answer from now on.
